Copper Gains on London Metal Exchange, Reversing Earlier Drop

Copper gained on the London Metal Exchange, reversing an earlier decline.

Copper for delivery in three months on the LME rose $14, or 0.3 percent, to $5,625 a metric ton as of 1:30 p.m. local time. Earlier, the contract fell as much as 3.2 percent to $5,430 a ton, the lowest intraday price since April 3.

The contract for delivery in March on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange gained 1.4 cents, or 0.6 percent, to $2.553 a pound. Earlier, it dropped to as low as $2.47.
