America West Resources Expands Horizon Mining Operations and Boosts Coal Production

America West Resources, Inc., a domestic coal producer with mining operations in Central Utah, is pleased to announce that the Company has officially commenced coal production in Section II of its Horizon mining operations.

“Expanding our mining operations into Section II represents a mission-critical milestone for our Company and one that we have worked very hard over the past six months to achieve,” stated Alexander Walker III, President and Chief Executive Officer of America West Resources. “Under the capable and experienced leadership of 39-year coal veteran Dan Baker, who was named our Chief Operating Officer this past December, production at our Horizon Mine is not only back on track, but progressing well.”

Continuing, Walker noted, “Both Sections I and II are now running seven days a week, three shifts a day. As a result, our June coal output is now on pace to increase 30% over the previous average monthly production. With mining operations in Section II now underway, our coal production should continue to scale at a much more aggressive pace. Based on the significant and growing global demand for our high-BTU, compliant coal, we are now well positioned to make measurable progress towards accomplishing several key financial and operational objectives in the months ahead.”
