Arch Coal elects Jennings to board
Arch Coal Inc. said Thursday that Brian Jennings was elected to its board of directors effective immediately. He will serve on the board’s finance and audit committees.
Steven Leer, Arch Coal’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement, “Brian’s expertise in corporate finance for the global energy industry will be extremely valuable to the board and Arch’s objective of creating long-term value.”
Jennings, 45, is currently senior vice president of corporate finance and development and chief financial officer of Devon Energy Corp. (NYSE: DVN) in Oklahoma City.
St. Louis-based Arch Coal Inc. (NYSE: ACI) is one of the largest coal producers in the country, providing the fuel for about 6 percent of the electricity generated in the United States.
