BE Group Appoints New President and CEO

The board of directors has resolved to appoint Lars Bergström the new president and chief executive officer of BE Group AB.
Mr Bergström has a long professional history in the Swedish engineering sector, including several positions with the ABB Group. He also served as president and CEO of KMT, Karoline Machine Tools, which was a listed company during his five years at the helm. Most recently, he was president and CEO of HTC Group, which provides professional floor treatment systems.

He is a consummate professional in the engineering sector and has invaluable experience leading a multinational in a listed environment. In light of BE Group’s increasingly strong focus on service, his experience in the engineering sector will be a major asset in furthering business development for the Group,” says Carl-Erik Ridderstråle, BE Group chairman.

Lars Bergström is fifty years old and holds an MSc in engineering from the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology and an MBA from Uppsala University.

“I am delighted at the prospect of leading BE Group, a multinational, listed company. In such a well-managed company, moving the strategy of international expansion and higher service sales ahead is bound to be exhilarating,” says Lars Bergström.

Mr Bergström takes up the position of president and CEO of BE Group during spring 2009. He will succeed Håkan Jeppsson, who will leave the company on February 15 to become the president and CEO of Inwido. Until then Torbjörn Clementz, CFO and Deputy CEO will be the acting chief executive.
