Deloitte & Touche USA LLP (Deloitte) announced that Gary A. Adams, Deloitte Consulting LLP, has been named U.S. oil and gas leader for the organization’s Energy & Resources industry group.
In this role, Adams will be responsible for strategic oversight of the major investments Deloitte is making to continue to grow its robust oil and gas practice. Based in Houston, Adams will coordinate Deloitte’s professional services to companies in all segments of the oil and gas industry in the United States.
Adams has over 20 years of professional services experience as an oil and gas specialist. Prior to joining Deloitte, he was the global upstream oil and gas practice leader for IBM, after serving as upstream oil and gas practice leader for PricewaterhouseCoopers prior to the acquisition of that firm’s management consulting practice by IBM in 2002.
“I am pleased to welcome Gary Adams to Deloitte,” said Barry Salzberg, CEO-elect, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP. “He is well-known around the globe and particularly in the Houston-based oil and gas community where Deloitte has a major presence. Gary will be a tremendous asset to our organization.”
“Gary Adams brings a great deal of knowledge on the major issues affecting oil and gas companies,” said Greg Aliff, vice chairman and national managing partner, Energy & Resources, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP. “Our clients will benefit from his extensive experience, especially in new and emerging technologies, as they look to navigate the changing energy landscape.”
Edward Carey, vice chairman and national managing partner of U.S. Industries, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, said, “The addition of Gary Adams as Deloitte’s U.S. oil and gas leader is the latest example of our commitment to bring our clients industry-specific knowledge and capabilities. Gary’s oil and gas-focused delivery of critical services and thought leadership to our clients will increase our already strong oil and gas capabilities. I am pleased to welcome him to our industry team.”
“The range of talent and breadth of service offerings within Deloitte’s Energy & Resources industry group in general, and in the oil and gas practice in particular, is impressive,” Adams said. “I am excited to begin working with my new Deloitte colleagues to bring fresh perspectives and solutions to oil and gas companies.”
