Global Uranium commences drilling on its White Cloud property, Nevadaadmin
Global Uranium Corp announce that drilling has commenced on its highly prospective White Cloud Project, Panaca, Nevada.
A permit has been received by the Bureau of Land Management for 10 drill holes on the White Cloud property. The Company is drilling for 7 holes, with each hole being drilled, to a depth of approximately 100 feet. Drilling is expected to be completed by the end of the month
The objective of this drilling is to follow-up on channel samples taken from a nearby road cut that assayed respectable uranium values ranging from 0.05% U(3)O8 over 2 ft, to 0.437 % U(3)O8 over 2.5 ft.
Drill hole collars will be surveyed, and drill core will be geologically logged and reviewed for intercepted anomalous radiometric zones. Those zones deemed significant in elevated gamma levels will be sampled and assayed for chemical and equivalent uranium content to assess radiometric equilibrium with actual uranium contained. US BLM drill site permit specifications will be followed for the site closure requirements upon completion of this exploratory drilling phase.
(The preliminary identification of carnotite is based upon the visible, yellow, gamma-emitting uraniferous mineralization localized, in part, at thin carbon-bearing zones in the fine grained, friable, weakly indurated tuffaceous quartz sandstones. X-ray identification would be needed to confirm the identification of the secondary U-V mineral.)
The White Cloud (WC) claim group consists of 10 claims. This property is located within the Panaca Basin, and the uranium mineralization consists of stratiform carnotite in tuffaceous lake-bed sediments of the Pliocene Panaca Formation. Previous exploration has identified areas of anomalous radioactivity the property.
