Halliburton Co. (HAL) received “multimillion-dollar” contracts from Pioneer Natural Resources Co. (PXD) for drilling and related work in Alaska. A spokeswoman for Halliburton, a Houston oil-field services company, wasn”t immediately available to comment on financial terms. The contracts entail directional drilling, measurement-while-drilling, logging-while-drilling, drilling fluids, cementing, mud logging, and cuttings injection services for Pioneer’s Oooguruk development project, which includes 39 horizontals wells. Halliburton will begin work late this year, with its share of the project scheduled to last about three years. Drilling will begin in the summer of 2007.
