Johan Fant – New CFO at Boliden

Johan Fant has, effective as of 8th January 2009, been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Boliden Group.

“The appointment of Johan Fant gives Boliden a CFO with extensive and international experience of accountancy, controlling and finance. His knowledge within strategic and operative development will add an important new element to the Group’s management team,” says Lennart Evrell, Boliden’s President and CEO.

“Boliden is a capital-heavy company that is exposed to the volatility of metal prices and currencies. That is an exciting combination and one with which I look forward to working,” says Johan Fant.

Johan Fant is 49 years old and was most recently employed by Electrolux as their Head of Group Treasury. His previous positions include those of Chief Operating Officer at Enskilda Securities, Head of Corporate Financial Control at Ericsson, and CFO at Assa Abloy.

Johan will be part of Boliden’s Management Group and will report to the President and CEO, Lennart Evrell.

Boliden is a leading European metals company whose core competence is in the fields of exploration, mining, smelting and recycling. Boliden’s main metals are zinc and copper. Other important metals extracted and refined include lead, gold and silver. The operations are conducted in three Business Areas: Market, Smelters and Mines. The number of employees is approximately 4 500 and the turnover amounts to approximately EUR 3.6 billion annually. Its shares are listed on Stockholmsbörsen’s Large Cap list and on the Toronto Stock Exchange in Canada.
