MDN Northern Mining : Results on Isle-Dieu Project, Quebec

MDN NORTHERN MINING releases the results on an exploration program recently completed on its 100% owned Isle-Dieu property consisting of 96 contiguous claims covering an area of 14.24 km2 in the Isle-Dieu township, about 7km northeast of Matagami.

A 23.5 km ground TDEM survey was carried out in 2006, following a heliborne VTEM survey completed in 2005. The surveys located six electromagnetic conductors in the northeast of the property. This method allows for the identification of conductors at greater depth than older surveys. Then, MDN tested five areas with either new conductors or known conductors not yet drill-tested. A sixth drill hole tested at a depth greater than 300m the strike extension of a conductor with recorded mineralized zones up to 1,9g/t Au and 1,5% Cu over 13,7m.

The six diamond drill holes totalling 1,448 metres intersected conductive units, usually consisting of argillite with various amounts of pyrite and pyrrhotite as well as traces of chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena. However, diamond drill holes didn’t intersect mineralization with significant grades in the mineralized zones hosted by lithologies dominantly composed of mafic volcanic rocks and gabbro or syenite intrusions.

The exploration program was carried under the supervision of Pierre Folco, geologist, and Laury Schmitt, engineer, from Soquem, both qualified persons under NI 43-101. All samples were analyzed at the Ste-Germaine Techni-lab laboratory. MDN is currently reassessing all results to-date on the property. MDN will also continue the evaluation of its Abitibi portfolio, compiling all data and testing eventual new conductors identified using the same geophysical methods.

MDN NORTHERN MINING is a Montreal-based Canadian exploration company that holds a 30% interest in the Tulawaka gold mine (Tanzania) as well as a majority interest in 25 adjacent mineral licenses in Tanzania and in one license in Eritrea, and interests in other gold and base metal exploration projects in Quebec, Canada.
