Nortec Announces Preliminary Results From TDEM Surveys, Koillisma-Naranka Nickel-Copper-PGE Project, Northeastern Finland

Further to the news release dated October 19, 2006, Nortec Ventures Corp. , announces that, the Company received preliminary results from its helicopter-borne, deep penetrating TDEM (Time Domain Electromagnetic Survey) and magnetic surveys on the Koillismaa-Naranka nickel-copper-PGE property located in northeastern Finland.

The geophysical surveys were carried out by SkyTEM Aps, a Danish airborne-geophysical survey company based in Aarhus, Denmark. A total of nearly 1,500 line kilometres was flown on the Koillismaa-Naranka reservation and claims area with a line spacing of 100 metres and the control lines at 1,000 metres. Preliminary evaluation of the EM data by Condor consulting indicates that the survey was successful in achieving a depth penetration of at least 300m, which is considerably more than any of the previous electromagnetic surveys in the area.

Several strong conductors were delineated, including a cluster of moderately intense anomalies not known from previous work in the area. Initial interpretation of the data by Condor Consultants of Colorado on various channels suggests that the shapes of some of the strong anomalies indicate a series of vertical dipping conductive plates. Depth modeling (by Layered Earth Inversions) is being carried out to filter out possible cultural sources from surface and to determine whether the depths of these vertical conductors coincide with the target model of mineralized feeder veins below the basal contact of the layered ultramafic intrusion. If confirmed, these conductors will be tested by scout diamond core drilling. Final results from depth modeling and interpretation are expected to be available by early February.

The company is earning an undivided 70% interest in the Koillismaa-Naranka project from Akkerman Exploration B.V. of the Netherlands. Mineral rights pertaining to the project, comprise 3 claim reservations and 19 exploration licenses, as well as a series of additional exploration licenses under application.
