Oil Purification Systems Establishes New Oil and Gas Business Unit

Oil Purification Systems, the leader in fluid cleaning technology, today announced the formation of a new Oil and Gas Business Unit, and the appointment of Steve Carroll as president of the group. The newly formed business unit was established to provide additional support for OPS’ current and prospective customers in the oil and gas industry.

Carroll joins OPS as president of the Oil and Gas Business Unit with more than 15 years of sales and management experience. As president, he will be responsible for all sales, marketing, management and customer service in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining OPS, Carroll served as sales manager for Simons Petroleum, where he established important relationships with executives and other leaders in the oil and gas sector. Carroll has previously served in sales and management positions at a variety of large companies, and successfully doubled the revenue in his district as a district manager for one of those companies. Carroll graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing and economics.

Mitch Weseley, OPS president and CEO, said, “While OPS’ fluid cleaning technology has been used extensively in the trucking industry for some time now, we have also very rapidly begun building a customer base in the oil and gas industry. The Oil and Gas Business Unit was formed as a result of this growing demand, and we are excited to have Steve on board to head up this new group. We are confident that Steve’s expertise and contacts in the industry will be beneficial to both our existing and potential customers.”

The formation of OPS’ Oil and Gas Business Unit follows the successful launch earlier this year of the company’s new Enviro-Pur fluid cleaning system, developed specifically for the oil and gas industry. Developed in a collaborative project with Felderhoff Brothers Drilling, the Enviro-Pur helps increase equipment uptime and lower overall maintenance costs by maintaining the quality of lubricating fluids used by all types of drill rig equipment, and by reducing the overall consumption of those fluids. The Enviro-Pur is specifically engineered for mud pumps, and continuously cleans the unit while it is still running, thereby reducing equipment downtime.

In addition to the Enviro-Pur, OPS also offers for the oil and gas industry the Eco-Pur, engineered for large engine applications such as the Caterpillar 3512’s, and the Large Diesel System. Typical applications in the oil and gas industry include light plants, draw works, mud pumps, large diesel generators and top drives.

“Companies in the oil and gas industry often have very high repair costs for their rigs, in addition to high costs associated with lube oil,” said Carroll. “The OPS fluid cleaning technology is perfectly suited for this sector in being able to significantly extend oil drain intervals. I’m excited to be working with a company like OPS that not only can save organizations a great deal of time and money, but is also playing a part in helping these companies reduce oil consumption to protect the environment.”

Oil Purification Systems, Inc. manufactures the OPS-1 on board oil refining system, which removes the solid and liquid contaminants from engine oil, virtually eliminating the need for routine oil changes. The OPS-1 is used by hundreds of fleets on thousands of vehicles and generators in trucking, busing, construction, mining and many other applications. OPS-1 users have dramatically reduced oil consumption, cut oil maintenance costs by 80 percent, and extended equipment life. Most OPS clients pay for their investments within six months. OPS-1 is also an effective solution for corporate environmental sustainability programs. Founded in 2002, OPS is headquartered in Shelton, Conn. and has production facilities in Waterbury, Conn.
