Rifle attacked Delta pitching for 11 hits, which included four doubles, as starting pitcher Allissa Skinner cruised, throwing a one-hitter with five strikeouts in a 11-1 league win, stopped after six innings by the 10-run mercy rule Thursday.

The victory raised the Bears to 8-6 (2-1 league) on the season. After taking a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning, Rifle scored seven runs in the following frame to break the game open.

Megan McWilliams had two of Rifle’s four extra-base hits in the contest – both doubles. Skinner and senior Jessica Martinez also doubled.

Weather permitting, Rifle hosts Steamboat Springs this morning for a doubleheader at Deerfield Park.
