Pacific Bay Air and Ground Uranium Programs Underway, Otish Mountains, Quebec

Mr. George Sanders, President, Consolidated Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. is pleased to report that a diamond drill and crew have been secured for the Otish ground program and that an airborne uranium survey is now underway over the Company’s claims in the Papaskwasati and Matoush regions of the Otish Mountains, Quebec. The drill is scheduled to be mobilized to PacBay’s “Camp Alfred” at the end of July, which is located 4 kilometres north of the Matoush deposit. PacBay’s geologists are now in the field completing ground scintillometer surveys over priority uranium targets in preparation for the upcoming drilling.

A helicopter-borne radiometric and magnetic survey is being flown by Geo Data Solutions, Inc. of Laval, Quebec and will cover approximately 6,660 line-kilometres in the Papaskwasati and Otish claim blocks. The survey is a cooperative effort between Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. and uranium explorers Majescor Resources, Inc. and Golden Valley Mines, Ltd. Pacific Bay Minerals controls a significant land position in the centre of the Papaskwasati Basin, where uranium deposits may occur within favourable Proterozoic conglomerates and sandstones cut by faults and dykes in settings similar to the Matoush deposit in the Otish Basin. Several historic drill holes from the 1960′s reported high radioactivity and uranium within PacBay’s Papaskwasati claims.

PacBay has joined several other companies in contributing to a study for a proposed Otish Mountains access road, from the existing Route 167 at Mistassimi Post on Lac Albanel, being undertaken by the Conference Regionale de Eus de la Baie-James (CREBJ), a council of elected officials from the region.

Additionally, follow-up radiometric surveys are planned for this summer on PacBay’s Mont-Laurier uranium claims in southern Quebec. The Mont-Laurier technical report can be downloaded from the PacBay website.

A new graphic of the target areas on PacBay’s Matoush claims has been posted to our website www.pacificbayminerals.com. Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. explores for uranium and precious metals, with major projects underway in Quebec and Argentina. Please visit our website for more information.
