Penford to break ground for ethanol plant
Penford Products Co. will break ground next Tuesday for a new ethanol production facility in Cedar Rapids.
Penford Corp., owner of Penford Products, announced plans in June to build a $42 million ethanol plant with the capacity to produce up to 45 million gallons of ethanol per year. The plant will be located adjacent to Penford Products’ existing starch production facility at 1001 First St. SW.
Company representatives, along with community and regional leaders, will be present at the private ground-breaking ceremony and make comments about the project.
