Petroleum Tanker Hits Guardrail On I-91
A tanker truck carrying petroleum hit a guardrail on I-91 early Saturday morning, prompting firefighters and a hazardous material team to respond, state police said.
The tanker was traveling northbound when one of its tires popped shortly before 6:30, causing the truck to swerve and hit the guardrail, police said. The area was closed off as another tanker truck came to siphon the petroleum from the disabled vehicle.
Local firefighters and a hazmat team were called to the scene as a precaution, police said.
