Source Petroleum spud high impact well at Woking, Alberta

Source Petroleum Inc. has received notice of the commencement of drilling operations on its Woking, Alberta png property from its joint venture partner and operator, Dual Exploration.

This well will test an identified primary objective in the Devonian Wabamun formation at a depth of approximately 2800 metres (9180 feet).

A combination of geological and geophysical mapping has identified a structure similar to the structure hosting the Saddle Hills Wabamun ”˜A’ pool 17 miles to the west. Dolomitization of the Wabamun is clearly associated with faulting at Saddle Hills and it is expected the case will be the same at Woking.

Production at Saddle Hills from the Wabamun ”˜A’ pool has produced in excess of 41 bcf from four wells since the discovery in 2002. Current production from the four wells totals 20 MMcf/d with one well that has produced 21.5 bcf in only four years.

This prospect is one of the Company’s high-impact exploration projects, and has significant production and reserves potential similar to that of Saddle Hills.
