U.S. Antimony Announces Record Zeolite Sales

Bear River Zeolite Co., Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of United States Antimony Corporation, announced record sales of zeolite from its Preston, Idaho deposit. During July and August the Company sold a total of 3,067 tons of product worth $435,327. Sales and orders for September could bring the third quarter revenue to more than $550,000.

Bear River zeolite is a natural occurring volcanic rock composed of the mineral clinoptilolite that is a cation-exchange agent. It is regarded by many as the finest grade of zeolite in the world. The Company is expanding its’ customer base through research and an aggressive sales approach. The plant capacity is more than 100 tons per day of granular sized products and more than 300 tons per day of fine particle sizes. In the fine particle range, the plant produces 6, 15, 25, and 44-micron sizes. New markets may include plastics, insect control, oil field remediation, and expanding applications for odor control, animal nutrition, and soil amendments. On a sample basis, Bear River is offering a new 3-micron product for use in plastic bags and containers to adsorb ethylene gas from fruits and vegetables that causes ripening and rotting. It may also control odors, adsorb other gasses and act as a desiccant in the bags and containers. Plant improvements include quality control, storage, safety, and many items that have reduced costs.

Shipments of Bear River zeolite are being made to Europe, Asia, Canada, Mexico and South America. The Company is getting more inquiries and hopes to develop a much larger diversified market.
