UPINOR 2008 Radiometry Extends Main Uranium Zone and Outlines Several New Ones

SIRIOS RESOURCES INC. reports that its 2008 Radiometric Survey on UPINOR extends the main uranium zone discovered in the Fall of 2007 and outlines several new radioactive zones. The survey outlined eleven first-priority kilometric size uranium zones including many coincidental with uranium lake sediment anomalies. The UPINOR uranium property is located in the LaGuiche Basin, James Bay, Quebec and is equally held by SIRIOS and DIOS Exploration Inc..

This summer, Geo Data Solutions of Laval, Quebec, completed a 3,711 km-line low-altitude (40 meters) spectrometry and magnetic survey flown with a 100 m line-spacing. Independent geophysical consultant Camille St-Hilaire defined seven first-priority radioactive zones with good Uranium/Thorium ratios.

The most significant A zone is a linear, east-west striking, over 10.0 km long by 0.2-0.5 km large geophysical anomaly showing 2.4-3.2 times the U/Th background ratio. The A zone, discovered last fall, is coincidental with an outcropping stratabound unit characterized by continuous radioactive high counts per seconds (cps) up to 36,000 cps over at least 5 km in strike in the field (and 600 m in thickness). It consists of several radioactive sub-horizontal dykes (sills), one reaching some ten meters within metamorphic rocks (gneiss and meta-sediments). The 2007 Fall reconnaissance sampling program returned up to 2% uranium oxide (U3O8) including 5 samples greater than 0.2% U3O8, and 10 samples with grades higher than 0.1% U3O8. A Rossing-type (8% of the world production) large volume uranium model is considered in association with numerous anatexis-granites occurring within the LaGuiche paragneisses. A reconnaissance program is already planned to investigate the most significant new radiometric anomalies this Fall.

The new G zone appears as the western extent of the A zone. This linear anomalous zone extends for a minimum of 5.0 km in strike length with U/Th ratios between 1.8 and 2.6. The east-west A-G zones axis is folded and its southern extent seems thinner (4 km long D zone with a U/Th=2.2). Other significant (B, C, E and F) more isolated zones extend respectively 1.0-2.0 by 0.5-1.0 km and have U/Th ratios between 2.1 and 2.7.

On the non yet explored southern claim block of the Upinor property, C. St-Hilaire outlined four other kilometric size radioactive zones with U/Th ratios between 1.6 and 3.0.

During the summer of 2008, DIOS and Sirios Resources completed a twelve-hole helicopter-borne drilling program totaling some 1,300 meters on the A zone. The core samples are still being processed at Saskatchewan Research Council Laboratory.

The UPINOR uranium property comprises 780 claims covering 400 square km. It is located at less than 30 kilometers north of the Opinaca Nord uranium project and about 50 km south of the all-weather Trans-Taiga road, James Bay, Quebec.
