Weststar Receives NI 43-101 Technical Report on Saskatchewan Tobin Lake 18 Meter Coal Property

Weststar Resources Corp. announce that it has received a NI 43-101 Technical Report on the Saskatchewan Tobin Lake 18 Meter Coal property. The report, dated January 6, 2009, is authored by Marvin A. Mitchell, P. Eng of Mitchell Geological Services Inc. and will be filed on SEDAR shortly.

The Tobin Lake 18 Meter Coal property consists of 72 coal permits, with a total property area of 55,296 Ha (216 square miles). Mr. Mitchell notes the geological similarity between coal occurrences within the Manville Formation at the Tobin Lake Property to those of Goldsource Mines, located about 90 km to the southeast. The report also notes the good access and close proximity to hydroelectric power on Tobin Lake and to rail lines within 40 km of the property.

Mr. Mitchell recommends a drill program to test the area nearby to the historic 18 meter coal intersection at the property, which was discovered by Consolidated Pine Channel Resources in 1994, while testing geophysical anomalies for kimberlite.

Dahrouge Geological Consulting Ltd has submitted a detailed drill permit application on behalf of the company, and it is anticipated that the drill permits will be issued shortly. The Company has received numerous drill contractor proposals and under the guidance of both Dahrouge Geological and Mitchell Geological, Weststar anticipates signing a definitive drill contract shortly.

Weststar President Mitchell Adam states, “We would like to thank Mr. Mitchell for providing the Company with the necessary guidance for an upcoming proposed drill program. The recent rise in share price for many companies in the Manville trend bodes well for a promising 2009. This report illustrates Weststar’s excellent proximity and geological similarities to Goldsource and with near surface targets, Weststar Resources will likely be the first junior company to be drilling in this area aside from Goldsource. I would like to thank all our shareholders for their support and we look forward to creating value for you through continued exploration and development activities.”
