World Energy and Chemicals Exhibition and Conference

Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait will host on Monday the World Energy and Chemicals Exhibition and Conference held under the auspices of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah with participation of 70 local and international companies.

The four-day conference and exhibition will be inaugurated by the Minister of Electricity and Water and acting Minister of Energy Mohammed Al-Olaim which is organized by Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science titled “Heavy Oil – Meeting the World Energy Demand.”

The conferees will address challenges in the producing and processing of heavy oil in Kuwait to meet the demand of the market and achieve the goals of its 2020 strategic plans, the conference’s organizers said in a press release.

For its side, KISR said that it plans through the conference to cooperate with the oil sector to achieve the State’s plan to increase oil production to four million barrels per day. Up to 53 work papers mostly from Canada, the United States, KISR, Kuwait University and Kuwait Oil Company will be presented at the conference.

Saudi Arabia, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Korea, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, Denmark, Qatar, Russia, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates will take part in the conference and exhibition.
