WV House of Delegates Passes to Renew Nickel Per Gallon Tax

The House of Delegates has passed a bill to renew a nickel-per-gallon portion of the state gas tax until 2013.

Highway officials say this component of the tax will bring 55 (m) million dollars annually for roads ineligible for federal funds.

Delegates voted 82-to-17 Tuesday to send the gas tax bill to the state Senate.

A group of House Republicans opposed the bill.
