Alcoa announced that it has taken top honors in Social Responsibility, Innovation and Quality, and Corporate Governance in the Steel and Metallurgy category in the annual ranking of the 500 best companies published by Dinheiro, Brazil’s leading business magazine. Alcoa ranked second in the industry’s overall ranking.

The ranking reflects notable business growth in Brazil. The revenue of the country’s 500 largest companies totaled the equivalent of US$913 billion in 2007, 12% higher than the previous year.
