Boliden Cuts Zinc Production

Due to decline in demand Boliden is reducing the Groups production of zinc metal at its Finnish and Norwegian smelters. The effect is a reduction by 60,000 tonnes of zinc metal on an annual basis and a temporary lay off of some 50 co-workers. The measures will be effective immediately.

In 2007 the Boliden Group produced some 460,000 tonnes of zinc.
