Buildings used for energy conservation demonstration

A northern New York community will become the first New York demonstration site for a new energy conservation project.
The town of Franklin joins six communities in four states as members of the Green Community Technologies learning project.

The Franklin Facilities Development Project will be used to evaluate the town’s buildings concerning energy conservation, in light of rising fuel and electricity costs. The program also involves creating an inventory of buildings for possible energy-conservation renovations.

As a model project in the state for the Green Community Technologies project, Franklin will hopefully provide an example of cost-saving, energy-saving information for other communities in the state.
