Caterpillar at MINExpo: Mining safely. Mining more. Mining right.

Caterpillar will display surface and underground mining equipment and technology capabilities at booth number 6229—the largest indoor exhibit within MINExpo 2008. The Central Hall will be the stage for introducing the new Caterpillar® F-Series mining trucks including the next generation of mechanical drive trucks as well as the new Cat® AC electric drive trucks. MINExpo marks the public debut for the new trucks, which Caterpillar announced more than two years ago.

The F-Series trucks feature the new Caterpillar C175 diesel engine, a state-of-the-art design proven efficient and reliable in power generation applications. A cut-away display of the new engine will be exhibited.

In addition to the long anticipated new trucks, the new D11T track-Type Tractor will be on public display for the first time, as will the newest in the line of Caterpillar large wheel loaders, the 993K.

Underground mining products on display include the latest underground loader and truck models as well as technology to boost productivity and safety in the underground environment. New surface mining technology products, too, will be shown. Caterpillar and Cat dealer product support capabilities share the stage with the big iron and the technology products.

The theme of the exhibit—Mining safely. Mining more. Mining right.—embraces the concept of mining efficiently and productively while doing the utmost to protect the health and safety of miners, the environment and the communities in mining areas. The concept is supported with the showing of a new Caterpillar film promoting sustainable development and building on the highly successful film, Common Ground, produced previously by Caterpillar.

D11T Track-Type Tractor:
The Cat® D11T Track-Type Tractor will be shown at MINExpo. The recently introduced tractor offers enhancements for the operator—such as a hydraulically actuated access ladder and a two-camera Work Area Vision System (WAVS). A Cat C32 engine provides clean, fuel-efficient power; a new cab improves comfort and productivity; and advanced electronics make the D11T easier to operate and service.

793F Mining Truck (mechanical drive):

The Caterpillar® 793F Mining Truck represents the new series of mechanical drive trucks being introduced at MINExpo and featuring the Cat® C175 engine.
