Coal mining – a piece of the past, present and future

January 10, 2007 Filed Under: Coal Mining, Mining Services

Coal mining is still a very prevalent industry in Bell County and the region. Coal is carried down this stacker belt from the Bell County Coal mine, Moseley Spur. It is then loaded onto coal trucks and hauled to the coal preparation plant. In the background is a near aerial view of the city of Middlesboro, Ky. Because of the appearance of the belt with the city in the background, the employees of the mine sometimes refer to this as the ”over land belt”.
