Copper Mesa Mining Corporation announce that it has received confirmation from the National Director of Mines (”NDM”) that both the Golden 1 and Golden 2 concessions, which comprise the important Junin copper-molybdenum prospect in the Imbabura Province of Ecuador, are to be reinstated to the Company. The NDM has instructed the applicable governmental agencies to take all steps as necessary to put this order into effect.

Gary E. Davis, President and CEO of the Company, commented, “We view this action as a very positive outcome to our appeal of the purported nullification of these concessions in January 2008. This is further evidence of the willingness of the current Administration to work jointly with mining companies for advancement of mining interests in the country.”

The Company eagerly anticipates the new Mining Law which is currently being drafted and readied for approval by the legislature. It is expected that this new Law will bring clarity to mining issues in Ecuador and allow for the environmentally sound development of the mining industry, providing benefits to Ecuador’s citizens, the Ecuadorian government, and to our shareholders.
