Tuesday, August 5th 2008

Douglas Lake Minerals Inc. announces that after an intensive search, the Company has hired Tanzanian Mineral Exploration (TANZMINEX), a geological consulting firm based in Arusha, Tanzania, specializing in alluvial deposits. TANZMINEX will immediately take over all project management responsibilities of Douglas Lake’s Mbwemkuru project working closely with the Company’s technical team.

TANZMINEX has a permanent staff of 14 Tanzanians including 4 graduate geologists, lawyers, mechanics, and skilled exploration workers. The team is headed up by Australian Geologist Ross McMaster Bsc, MAusIMM, who is defined as a Competent Person (JORC Compliant) for the preparation of Resource Statements. TANZMINEX has consulted for dozens of mining companies including De Beers.

Douglas Lake’s Management sees the hiring of TANZMINEX as a crucial step in the ongoing development of the Mbwemkuru Alluvial Gold Project. Under the Tanzanian mining act, a resource must be defined on at least part of the property before a mining license will be issued. Not only does TANZMINEX have a qualified person to write the Resource Statement, and the necessary staffing, TANZMINEX also has the exploration equipment available to complete the project through to production, including:

– A fleet of 10 – 4WD field vehicles including heavy camp and service trucks – Truck mounted auger drill

– 7.5 inch Knelson Concentrator (http://www.knelsongravitysolutions.com)

– 12 inch Knelson Concentrator Pilot Plant for bulk testing of gold

– Full range of sampling and mapping equipment

TANZMINEX’S experience in working with alluvial projects, being based in Tanzania, understanding of the local language and customs, and the immediate fit to the existing technical team, were key factors in its being selected.

DLKM is an emerging mineral exploration company focused on exploring and developing gold, copper, nickel, uranium, and diamond mining opportunities in Tanzania. For more information, go to www.douglaslakeminerals.com.
