East West Resource Corporation: Drilling Confirms Copper at Depth

East West Resource Corporation and its 50% joint venture partner, Marshall Lake Mining PLC (PLUS: MLM) have received assay results for their recent drilling campaign on their Marshall Lake VMS (Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide) property, 252 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, Ontario. A total of ten holes were completed in the western portion of the property where an alteration zone exceeding 10 square kilometres in area is host to widespread copper bearing “stringer” style mineralization.

Hole TK-08-09 on the Teck Hill copper occurrence undercut historical drilling and intersected 50.5 metres of mineralization containing 0.84% copper, at a downhole depth of 92 to 142.5 metres. This intercept contains significant high grade, including 4.25 metres containing 3.79% copper, 0.26 g/t gold, and 38.26 g/t silver, and a second interval of 4.7 metres containing 2.34% copper. As measured along the plunge line, this intercept extends this zone to approximately 150 metres from surface.

A fence of three holes tested a broad zone of multiple IP anomalies that link Teck Hill and the Gazooma zones over a distance of 500 metres. Core from all 3 holes was variably mineralized with copper bearing pyrite-chalcopyrite stringers from thereby supporting the interpretation of continuity between Teck Hill and Gazooma. Intervals with higher grades include 0.43% copper over 11 metres (52 m to 63m downhole) in hole TK-08-06; 0.29% copper over 31 metres (89m to 120 m downhole) in hole TK-08-07.

Three deeper holes were drilled to test the down plunge extension of the Gazooma copper zone. Hole GAZ-08-12 intersected 12 m containing 1.01% copper from 127 to 139 metres downhole and hole GAZ-08-14 had two intercepts, 0.63% copper from 106 to 111.8 metres (5.8m) downhole, and 0.39% copper from 136.27 to 140.31 metres (4.04m) downhole. As measured along the plunge line, this intercept extends the Gazooma zone to approximately 150 metres from surface.

Assays are pending for the remaining three holes drilled at Gazooma North, where the discovery hole GAZN-07-02, reported April 17th, 2007, intersected 0.71% copper over 31.9 metres. Results will be released shortly following completion of analysis.

The partners now consider that they have adequately addressed the exploration phase of these “stringer” copper zones, and that this western part of the project can now be advanced to resource definition drilling. Priority will now be given to the search for the “massive sulphide” component of this VMS system.
