Empyrean Energy Drilling Ahead at Sugarloaf Prospect

Empyrean Energy reports that the Sugarloaf-1 exploration well, located in the onshore Gulf Coast Basin in Texas, USA, was drilling ahead in 17-1/2″ hole at 3,289 feet (1,003 meters).

Since the last report advising the spud of the well, 18-5/8″ casing was successfully set at 910 feet (277 meters).

The Sugarloaf well has a number of geologically independent targets, the first of which is at 12,000 – 14,000 feet (3,600 – 4,300 meters) and is expected to be reached by mid September.

The primary Hosston target is expected to be reached in early to mid October and the total depth of 21,000 feet (6,400 meters) in early November.
