Golden Eagle Continues to Develop Important Data from Its C Zone Pilot Gold Operations

Golden Eagle International, Inc. announced that its C Zone pilot gold operations in eastern Bolivia are continuing to develop important data that may lead to full-scale operations there.

Golden Eagle’s pilot operations have shown that approximately 60% of the material being processed is made up of gold bearing quartz fragments from the weathered quartz veins that formed the C Zone gold mineralization. The Company’s pilot work carried out to date has confirmed a gold bearing area that extends over 3,000 feet in a north and south direction and over 1,500 feet of width. The pilot operation is crushing the quartz fragments to liberate the contained gold particles and is helping to define processing parameters for a potential full-scale operation if the decision is made to move forward based on the accumulated results and if necessary financing can be obtained.

“The amount of gold bearing quartz fragments in the bulk samples that we have processed has been much higher than expected, and the contribution of the gold contained in these fragments will increase overall gold grades considerably,” stated Michael H. Biste, Ph.D., Golden Eagle’s Chief Consulting Geologist.

Sixty percent of the 262 exploration drill holes and pits gave panning results of between 100 and 1,400 mg/m3 of free gold over an average mineralized thickness of 9 feet from the surface down. Now, however, the Company’s pilot operations are encountering unexpected levels of fine gold in the bulk sampling suggesting that overall grades may go higher. Based on this result, Company technicians are maximizing fine gold recoveries through the use of a Knelson Concentrator, a centrifugal device that permits fine gold particle recoveries down to the 5 micron range. “Going through this learning curve is exactly the benefit of bulk sampling pilot operations and is helping us to refine our technical expertise with this material,” Dr. Biste noted.
