LINE-X Industrial Coatings to Launch New Flame Retardant Mining Products at 2008 MINExpo INTERNATIONAL

LINE-X Industrial Coatings Division (LICD), a strategic business unit of LINE-X Protective Coatings (LINE-X), is pleased to announce that it will be exhibiting at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2008 in Las Vegas, Nev., September 22-24, 2008 (booth #02343). During the exposition, LICD will be launching their new mine-specific, flame retardant product XS-252.

Ideal for the mining and military sectors, LINE-X XS-252 was designed for companies looking for protection against abrasion, corrosion and impact, but also needing flame retardant properties. The first spray-on product to meet the Mine, Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Standard Application Procedures for Acceptance of Flame-Resistance Solid Products Taken Into Mines, XS-252 will allow customers the opportunity to apply the product to any type of mining equipment, regardless of shape or size.

Having met the requirements of the MSHA Standard Application Procedures for Sealants Applied to Underground Ventilation Controls (ASAP 5005), XS-252 is a revolutionary product, the only in its category, to be used as a sealant for shaft seals.

Failing sealant materials have been an ongoing concern for the mining industry for years as methane gasses can escape into working areas, mixing with oxygen and becoming combustible; thus causing a huge threat to mining company employees. LICD recognized this threat and the need for a superior sealant material; therefore we created LINE-X XS-252 with both the physical and the fire retardant properties to satisfy MSHA underground ventilation controls requirements. LINE-X XS-252 is a spray-on lining product that forms a monolithic membrane to minimize the effluent gaseous migration into the working areas therefore protecting mining company employees.

Beyond the launch of XS-252, LICD will be a premier exhibitor and will be accepting applications to further expand its applicator network worldwide. Attendees will be able to meet the LICD team members and learn more about how to become part of the LICD applicator network, as well as hear how the company’s scientifically-engineered formulations are protecting some of the most valuable assets in the world, such as the U.S. Pentagon.

“LICD is very excited about our new mining product and the unmatched protection it will be delivering to the mining industry,” said Michael Babiarz, vice president of business development for LICD. “We are committed to our customers’ needs and developing superior products that not only do the job well, but in some cases, protect human life.”

MINExpo INTERNATIONAL is the world’s richest deposit of mining technology, services and products. Held every four years, MINExpo is expected to be bigger than ever with exhibitors reserving 30 percent more space than the previous show. For more information, visit http://www.minexpo.com.
