Man burnt in Sydney coal mine accident

A young man has suffered serious facial burns while working at a coal mine in south-western Sydney.

The 21-year-old was working on the surface of the Douglas Park mine when an oxygen bottle caught fire and badly burnt his face.

The NRMA Careflight helicopter airlifted the Queensland man to hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.
