MDN Northern Mining: Follow-Up Drilling of Gold Discoveries Tulawaka Region, Tanzania

MDN NORTHERN MINING (MINIERES DU NORD) (TSX: MDN) is pleased to announce the beginning of a new drilling program to test four gold targets in the Tulawaka region, Tanzania.

This program is planned to test the three new gold discoveries recently made by MDN Northern Mining in this area, designated as Simba, Vyionza and Isozibi, as well as the Msasa occurrence, which was discovered by African Eagle and is now subject to an option agreement. The current program includes detailed induced polarization and magnetometric geophysics to map the host geological structures together with a minimum of 8,000 m of reverse circulation drilling to test the lateral and depth extensions of the gold mineralization.

Carlos Bertoni, CEO of MDN NORTHERN MINING, stated: “The objective of our work in the region is to discover and develop new gold deposits that could be treated at the Tulawaka Mine facilities, in which we have a significant participation. We are encouraged by the results of our previous program and are now ready to test the dimensions of these discoveries”.

MDN NORTHERN MINING is a Montreal-based Canadian exploration company that holds a 30% interest in the Tulawaka gold project, which went into commercial production in March of 2005, and a majority interest in 25 adjacent mineral licenses in Tanzania, a majority interest in three licenses in Eritrea, and other gold and base metal exploration interests in Quebec, Canada.
