Mesa Uranium Begins Drilling at Lisbon Valley Projectadmin
Mesa Uranium Corp. is pleased to announce commencement of drilling at its 100%-owned Lisbon Valley project in San Juan County, Utah. Bob Beeman Drilling Company of Moab, Utah has been selected as the drilling contractor and Jet West Geophysical Services of Farmington, New Mexico will provide drill hole logging services. Drill programs have been designed for the following target areas with an expected minimum of 50,000 feet:
– The SE Lisbon Mine target drilling will offset significant uranium mineralized found in Mesa holes L-4 and L-7 (news release dated September 14, 2006). Mesa’s drill results to date in this large prospective area validate Mesa’s exploration model, which predicts potential for large uranium deposits.
– Mesa drilled the North Alice target in 2006, and drill hole NA-3 intercepted strong uranium mineralization (see Mesa news release dated December 13, 2006). The 2007 drilling will offset these successful results. – The Lisbon Springs target contains data from oil wells and 1970′s drilling which indicate a strong mineralized trend consistent with Mesa’s conceptual model. – The planned drilling in the Utah State lease, Section 32 will test for shallow uranium mineralization in the Cutler Formation along the prolific trend defined by the historic Uranerz, Velvet, and Bacardi uranium mines. – Drilling within the La Sal Uranium Mining District on the La Sal Channel will test the Salt Wash member of the Morrison Formation.
– Drilling is planned on the west side of the Lisbon Valley Mining District, where a number of favorable uranium trends exist.
