Morgan Creek Energy receives drilling approval on Boggs #1 well
Morgan Creek Energy Corp. is being given drilling approval by the Railroad Commission of Texas for its Boggs #1 well. The Boggs #1 located in the Morris Moore Survey of McLennan County, Texas, targets the Barnett Shale at approximately 8,500 feet. ROCO Drilling & Service Ltd. is preparing to move on site as the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality has given surface casing requirements.
All location work has been finished on the drill site with a reliable source of drilling water now secured.
In order to ensure the smooth set up, operation and potential tie-in on this project, an expert Drilling Consultant has been employed by the Company. Under their direction, the Boggs #1 will be drilled on a 40 acre drilling/production unit, less than 1,500 feet from the Atmos Energy natural gas purchasing point.
The expectations of the Boggs #1 are high, as the United States Geological Survey has estimated that the Barnett Shale contains 50 to 150 billion cubic feet of gas per 640 acres.
