Petroleum corpns, LPG companies workers procession on demands
Members of the CITU led confederation of workers of petroleum corporations and LPG manufacturing companies (Tamil Nadu and Puducherry) took out a procession today to draw attention to their demands.
Among other things, they are demanding rationalisation of wage structure of permanent workers, regularisation of contract workers and also steps to protect public sector oil companies in the country.
Later, the general secretary of the CITU’s Tamil Nadu unit A Soundararajan addressed a seminar at the CPI(M) party office at reddiarapalayam.
A spokesman of the workers union said the seminar passed a resolution, requesting all workers in the oil industry in Tamil Nadu and puducherry and affiliated to CITU to observe a one day strike on June 6 in support of these demands.
