Quarles Petroleum deploys Precidias POSLynx220 at remote sites
US service station and convenience store operator Quarles Petroleum has implemented an IP connectivity solution from Precidia Technologies and Staunch Corporation at its remote fueling sites. The technology enables Quarles to migrate its Gasboy fuel dispensers with cardlock systems and onsite video surveillance cameras to an IP network for faster transaction authorization, enhanced security and better remote management.
Quarles required a product that would deliver reliable, centrally managed video surveillance over its high-speed wide area network (WAN) for its 80 unmanned remote fueling sites, while also speeding the transaction time for drivers using the cardlock system.
To achieve this, Quarles implemented a solution that enables broadband connectivity via Precidia’s POSLynx220. This multiport payment router features both dial and serial ports, delivering secure broadband connectivity for the onsite video surveillance system and the cardlock system with only one device.
By integrating the Gasboy fuel dispenser and onsite video surveillance system on the WAN, Quarles can search and view video based on transaction information. This information is displayed with the video and has proven to be instrumental in helping Quarles’ customers identify misuse of their fuel cards.
