Raven Gold Corp. Announces a New Senior Advisor

Raven Gold Corp. is pleased to announce that Mr. David Petersen will be acting as the Company’s Senior Advisor. Mr. Petersen has been involved in the mining industry for over 50 years. He completed a Mining Engineering course from Witwatersrand University in 1958 and Mining Geology studies in 1964. Mr. Petersen has worked throughout North and Central America as a Senior Geologist for numerous mining companies.

After Mr. Petersen’s successful training as a Mining Engineer, David relocated to South Africa employed by New Consolidated Goldfields Ltd. and Union Corporation Ltd At this time these where two of South Africa’s largest mining companies. David also worked with Placer Development Ltd. as a geologist and open pit geologist at the Endako Mines. David was also a geologist with Rio Algom Exploration Inc. and a senior geologist with Northair Mines Ltd. and Western Canadian Mining Corporation. Mr. Petersen was appointed as Vice President of Exploration for War Eagle Mining Company later in his career.

Mr. Petersen will be traveling to Mexico on behalf of the Company to analyze and review the geology, production and exploration of the La Currita project. Over the next year Mr. Petersen will be visiting other potential production and exploration opportunities including Las Minitas. During this time he will also be responsible for heading examination programs for various areas within Mexico, analyzing old workings and investigating potential tailing reserves.

About La Currita

The La Currita Groupings includes 4 mines, a 150 tonnes/day operating floatation mill and stockpiled ore. The La Currita mine was in steady production from 1983 until 1998. A diamond drilling exploration program conducted in 1998 indicated grades of 2.59 g/t Au and 200 g/t Ag. Existing mines and mineralized structures hold potential to increase tonnage through systematic exploration. The area surrounding La Currita has numerous mines and recent substantial discoveries. Adjacent to the La Currita holdings, Palmarejo has announced an inferred resource of 3.1 million ounce gold equivalent on their property. In addition, about 20 miles to the SE is the 170,000 ounce/year Glamis Gold’s El Sauzal gold mine and 40 miles to the North is Gammon Lake Resource’s Ocampo Gold-Silver Project with a projected 270,000 gold-equivalent ounces/year.
