Singapore and Swedish navies conduct bilateral mine countermeasure exercise

The Singapore and Swedish navies are conducting their annual bilateral Mine Countermeasures Exchange Programme.

It is code-named Ex Lejon Singa and is being held in Singapore from 4th to 13th December.

This year’s exchange programme consists of a sea exercise, incorporating Mine Countermeasure training and diving elements, as well as topical presentations on neutralising explosive ordnance.

The exercise is now into its 11th year.

The Defence Ministry says the exchange programme is a prime example of the regular interactions that have strengthened professional ties between staff of both navies. – CNA/so
