Tropical Storm Shuts Mexico Oil Ports

Two of Mexico’s main oil ports were closed by bad weather and heavy rains from the remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur.

The Gulf ports of Dos Bocas and Cayo Arcas because of strong winds and rough seas. The third major port on the Gulf, Pajaritos, remained open.

Mexico exports roughly 1.7 million barrels of oil a day, mainly to the U.S.

Forecasters say the storm has become disorganized and is not likely to strengthen, but heavy rains will persist across the area.
