True North Gems Commences 2006 Exploration Program on Tsa da

True North Gems (TGX: TSX-V) is pleased to announce the commencement of the 2006 exploration program for its wholly owned, 105 claim Tsa da Glisza emerald property in the Finlayson Lake area of the Watson Lake Mining District, Yukon Territory, Canada.

The 2006 program will focus on data collection for an independent resource determination for the Summit Zone and to confirm continuity of resource potential into the Far West and Otter Zones. The current exploration will centre on numerous high priority targets hosting visible emerald and intervals of intense alteration in drill core, underground and surface trench samples.

“We believe that the results of our 2006 exploration program incorporated into a 3-dimensional geological and geochemical compilation will provide the requisite information for a 2007Q1
pre-feasibility study”, said Greg Davison, True North Gems’ Vice President Exploration.

The Company is also pleased to announce that an amendment to its Class III Mining Land Use permit (LQ00076) was received from the Yukon Territorial Government and the expiration date for the operating permit was extended for a period of five years to August 12, 2011.

Detailed geological and structural mapping will accompany trenching in the Summit and Far West Zones, the Otter Zone surrounding the large multi-element geochemical anomaly and the Shadow Zone on nearby Howdy Ridge. The areas extending from the high grade Mattscar vein to the north toward several newly discovered veins of the Far West Zone have shown considerable promise in both surface and drilling results. A series of parallel 100 metre trenches at 25-50 metre intervals transecting the ridge over an 800 metre strike are planned. The flanks
of the Summit Zone remain open lateral to drill intersections of intense alteration and trenching on 50-75 metre intervals will focus on continuity and depth potential. The trench face sampling will be the principal source of emerald recovery for the 2006 season.

Mapping through the Otter Zone toward the northern boundary of the Tsa da Glisza property and onto True North Gems’ adjacent MEG property will investigate the potential for mineralization within the Fire Lake ultramafic rocks. Geochemical work to the north and west of the Otter Zone is warranted by a linear trend of multi-element geochemical anomalies toward the MEG claims. Logging and petrographic analysis of the 2002-2004 drill core will focus on key alteration and structural features to define the nature of the mineralization and associated

geochemical haloes. Rock lithogeochemistry will supplement the 2002-2004 drill core data, since no previous drilling has intersected the ultramafic package underlying the Fire Lake metavolcanics.
