West Timmins Commences Drilling on Montana de Oro Project; Expands Land Position to 270 Square Kilometres

West Timmins Mining Inc. announced it has commenced a 5,000 metre program of diamond drilling on its Montana de Oro Project in Mexico, to test high priority gold and gold-silver targets, including the El Rodeo gold-silver system.

“We have been eagerly anticipating the initial drill testing of the El Rodeo discovery for several months and we are excited to have it now underway,” said Darin Wagner, President and CEO of West Timmins Mining Inc. “In addition to the El Rodeo system, we will test a number of other promising gold targets within the project holdings including the large La Concepcion and La Fronteriza gold systems.”

The El Rodeo gold-silver zone has been traced by surface mapping and geochemical sampling for a distance of 1,300 metres and remains open along strike. Recently announced trenching exposed the mineralized zone in four trenches along 425 metres of strike and identified gold-silver mineralization across widths of 3.25 to 11.75 metres with all mineralized zones open to the east. Reported gold grades ranged from 2.16 g/t to a high of 48.10 g/t with associated silver grades ranging from 27.80 to 241 g/t.

The Company further announced that it has staked claims covering an additional 173 square kilometres adjoining the Montana de Oro project bringing the total project holdings to 272 square kilometres. The Company holds a 100% interest in these newly acquired claims that cover projected extensions of the El Rodeo gold-silver and La Concepcion copper-gold systems. A program of stream sediment sampling and prospecting, similar to the program which led to the El Rodeo discovery, is planned for the new claims beginning in early 2007.
