Western Uranium Corporation Announces the Initiation of the Drilling and Geophysical Program in the Thelon Basin

Western Uranium Corporation is pleased to announce the required permits needed to initiate the ground geophysical and core drilling program in Nunavut have been granted. Mobilization of the camp and drilling equipment is in progress and it is anticipated the core drilling program will be underway within the next week. The drilling program is designed to test an anomaly on Area 7 where a very strong geophysical conductive response was identified from the Mega-tem airborne survey that was completed in September of 2006. Titan Drilling has been contracted to complete the 2000 meter drill program.

Quantec Geophysical has been contracted to implement the ground geophysical survey and will utilize a TDEM ground loop system. This survey is being undertaken on a portion of Area 6 where a number of conductive responses associated with shear zones were identified by the Mega-tem airborne survey. These geophysical responses are similar to those found over uranium ore-bodies in the Athabasca Basin.

The company considers the initiation of this program to be a major milestone. In less than a year of acquisition of the ground in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories the company has successfully completed a large airborne geophysical survey, identified areas that demonstrate potential for hosting mineralization, locate and contract a drilling company, camp support services, helicopter service, go through the permitting process and receive the grant of the permit.
