Weststar Update on Saskatchewan 18 Meter Tobin Lake Coal Property

Weststar Resources Corp. announce the following updates concerning the wholly owned “18 Meter” Tobin Lake Coal Property. In order to advance the drill permits currently under application with the Saskatchewan ministry, representatives of Dahrouge Geological, the consulting geologists on the project, made a site visit to the property. During this reconnaissance trip, the advance team successfully located the historic drill hole pad for discovery hole TL02-2, which provided the previous drill results indicating the 62 foot (18 meter) coal zone, including the 25 foot (7 meter) continuous coal seam at 156 to 181 feet (48 to 55 meters) (see NR June 23, 2008 for details).

Most importantly, the team confirmed the location of the previously utilized access trails, which will assist in expediting the permitting process. The Company feels that using these pre-existing access routes will lessen the permitting process time, in addition to providing a safe, sought-after crossing of the Torch River without the necessity of constructing access points.

In addition to utilizing the pre-existing trails, a variety of forest classification maps were obtained which will assist in confirming the easiest and lowest impact access to the proposed drill locations.

The Company continues with necessary work for our drill-permit application for a 5 – 8 hole drill program to be carried out as soon as permitting allows. This first-phase drill program will consist of drilling in and around the historic “18 Meter” coal discovery hole originally drilled by Consolidated Pine Channel Gold Corp. in 1994. Should the first phase drilling prove positive, the Company would look to propose and carry out a second phase of exploration with the intent of outlining potential coal resources within the property.
