Zanjans industrial, mineral exports up 80 percent

Industrial and mineral exports from the northwestern province of Zanjan rose by 80 percent in value during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2006) compared with the figure for the same period last year, a local official said on Monday.

The head of the province’s Industries and Mines Organization, Sirous Mianji, told IRNA that industrial and mineral commodities valued at USD 81 million were exported from the province as of the start of the current Iranian year.

Zinc ingots, cables and wires, foodstuf as well as chemical, metal, textile and mineral products were the main goods exported via the province, he noted.

Mianji added that the commodities were exported mainly to European states, Persian Gulf littoral states and Central Asian countries.
