First Nickel Inc. Corrects Date of Annual Filing Certificates Files Amendment to Premiere Ridge Technical Report

First Nickel Inc. announced that it has, at the request of the Ontario Securities Commission, and in accordance with Multilateral Instrument 52-109 – Certification of Disclosure in Issuers’ Annual and Interim Filings

(“MI 52-109″), re-filed the Certifications of the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of First Nickel in respect of its annual filings for the year ended December 31, 2005. The new certificates replace and supersede the original certificates which were dated March 15, 2006 and were filed on SEDAR on March 22, 2006, the same date that such financial statements were filed on SEDAR. In accordance with MI 52-109, the original certificates should have been dated and filed concurrently with First Nickel’s Annual Information Form for the year ended December 31, 2005 which was dated and filed on March 31, 2006. The re-filing is to correct this error and is made pursuant to a review of First Nickel’s continuous disclosure record by the Ontario Securities Commission. There have been no changes to First Nickel’s annual filings for its year ended December 31, 2005.

First Nickel also announced the filing of an amendment to the National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects – compliant technical report dated July 21, 2006 entitled “Technical Report on the Resource Estimate for the Premiere Ridge Property, Sudbury, Ontario” prepared by Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle Associates Inc. (“SWRPA”). The technical report has been amended to include a summary budget relating to the recommendations of SWRPA therein, and no other changes have been made.
