Sub-Saharan Natural Gas Conference Draws Independents & Majors

Tuesday, August 26th 2008

A number of independent and major exploration and production companies will attend a forum focusing on development of Sub-Saharan Africa’s prodigious natural gas reserves, September 3 & 4 in Houston.

Among the organizations that will be represented at the meeting are: Artumas Group, Chevron, Citigroup, ConocoPhillips, Marathon Oil Corporation, PetroSA, Repsol YPF, Sasol, Fortesa, Hyperdynamics, MedEnergy, American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) 4D Global Energy Advisors, Black & Veatch, British Consulate General, Chart Industries, Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Dresser-Rand, Groppe, Long & Littell, ICF International, KBR, King & Spalding LLC, Mustang Engineering, Parks Paton Hoepfl & Brown, Renoir Oil & Gas, Shaw Group, Twachtman Snyder & Byrd and Zeus Development Corporation, the meeting organizer.

“Given such emphasis on oil development right now, we were not certain how many clients would be interested in remote gas monetization,” said Bob Nimocks, chief executive at Zeus. “We’re pleased to see it still ranks highly.”

Zeus Development Corp has completed a nine-month survey of gas fields, lease blocks, basins and national governments in the region. The results will be presented the second day of the conference, which is being held at the Houston Marriott Westchase Hotel.
