Pinnacle Asset Integrity Services to Present on Risk Based Inspection and Corrosion at American Petroleum Institute (API) Inspection Summit

PinnacleAIS, the leading provider of services and technology, specializing in improved asset integrity for the chemical, refining, and mining industries, announced today that it will be presenting three topics at the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 2011 Inspector’s Summit in Galveston, TX. “Risk Based Inspection for Pressure Relief Devices” and “Optimization of Condition Monitoring Locations” will be presented by Pinnacle’s president and CEO, Ryan Sitton. The third topic, “Corrosion Models and Risk Based Inspection”, will be presented by Jeremy Nelson, an API 571 certified metallurgist who is a Corrosion Specialist at Pinnacle.

All three topics focus on Risk Based Inspection (RBI), an inspection methodology that uses risk, as opposed to routine intervals, to drive inspection schedules. “Risk Based Inspection has become a hot topic in the mechanical integrity world,” Ryan Sitton commented, “but its theory remains underutilized and is often improperly applied. Pinnacle is always excited to speak on topics that are of practical use to the inspection community.” Risk Based Inspection has become a growing trend in the refining industry, as its premise enables the user to focus inspections and resources on risky assets.
