Seahawks sign deal with 7-Eleven

7-Eleven Inc., which has 172 stores in Western Washington, has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the Seattle Seahawks.

The convenience store chain’s agreement with the Seahawks is part of a national sports marketing initiative by Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Seven & I Holdings Co., which signed deals with 18 pro sports organizations in the National Football League, Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association and the Indy Racing League.

Margaret Chabris, a 7-Eleven spokeswoman, said the chain picked the Seahawks as its sports partner in Seattle because, “We wanted to work with a well known, winning and high profile team.”

The Seahawks, who won the Western division of the National Football Conference for the third year in a row this season, have been consistent playoff contenders and made a trip to Super Bowl XL last season.

The sponsorship is multifaceted and consists of a number of elements:

In-stadium signage at Qwest Field. Television and radio commercials and promotions with the Seahawks partners such as NBC, local Fox-TV affiliate KCPQ-13, Fox Sports Network Northwest and 710 KIRO Radio. Events at local 7-Eleven stores such as player appearances and autograph signings. Sponsorship of the “Tee Hawk of the Week” contest, in which winners receive a customized “12th Man” jersey and a “7-Eleven Tee Hawk of the Week” football.
